Support the health and well-being of every student
At Brisbane Grammar School (BGS), our mission is clear: to provide every student with the best possible education, empowering them to succeed academically, personally, and in life. This mission extends far beyond the classroom. It’s about creating well-rounded individuals who are not only intellectually curious but also physically active, healthy, and resilient. To that end, we are excited to share a new initiative that will enhance our Athletic Performance Development program and support the health and well-being of every student: the?BGS Sports Science Centre.
We are seeking your support to help us realise this vision—a world-class facility that will provide cutting-edge resources to help every BGS student, from Year 5 to Year 12, thrive physically, emotionally, and mentally. The new centre will cater to students at all stages of athletic development, whether they are just beginning their fitness journey or training for high-level competition.
It will allow our students to build healthy habits, gain strength, and develop a strong foundation for lifelong physical activity, well-being, and personal success.

Why your support matters
In 2024, our community came together to raise funds for the creation of a cutting-edge?Sports Science Lab, bringing innovative technology to BGS students for strength and movement analysis. However, further research has shown that expanding the facility to include a?Strength and Conditioning facility?will allow us to provide a comprehensive, holistic approach to student development. This expanded facility will not only support athletic performance but also emphasise the importance of overall health, fitness, and well-being.
As a donor, you can help us complete this vision. Your contribution will play a key role in creating a space that combines the best of both sports science and strength training, benefiting every BGS student in their journey toward physical well-being, achievement, and personal growth.
This expanded centre will have far-reaching benefits for BGS students:
- Supporting Health & Well-being: The new facility will emphasize the importance of holistic health - strengthening both body and mind. Our students will have access to world-class resources that help them build healthy, sustainable habits. Whether they are working to improve their fitness or participating in team sports, they will learn how to care for their physical and mental health in a way that supports overall well-being.
- A Personalised Approach: Using the latest sports science technology, we will assess students’ baseline physical data from Year 5 or Year 7, enabling us to track their development over time. This allows us to tailor programs that support their growth, build resilience, and enhance their athletic abilities, while considering their individual health and well-being needs.
- Strength & Conditioning for Every Student: The new facility will cater to all levels of athletic ability. From those participating in regular physical education classes to high-performance athletes, this centre will provide everyone with the tools and support to enhance their strength, mobility, and fitness, while promoting lifelong health.
